Level 3 learning materials
Following the GTC’s highly acclaimed Level 2 learning materials, the Level 3 pack is also available.
The materials, which promote the best practice and principles for golf course maintenance through the production of a standard set of learning materials to Level 3 N/SVQ in Sportsturf, can now be purchased by employers, course managers and greenkeeping students.
David Golding, Education Director, said: "The nationally recognised materials are available in both electronic and hard copy format and making them more widely accessible should lead to more greenkeepers registering for work-based qualifications with our approved providers."
"The providers urged us to develop the Level 3 materials following the success of the Level 2 set, saying is was vital to have the next level of nationally endorsed materials readily available."
David added: "The GTC has not only been involved in the development of the sportsturf vocational qualifications but now has shown that it will take the lead in setting the national standards in what principles should be taught greenkeeping students."
"Golf club employers still have a skilled workforce as their top priority. While the GTC has its ongoing programme to train more course managers and head greenkeepers to become qualified assessors in the workplace, we also need to ensure the knowledge aspects of the vocational qualifications can be accessed by course managers and head greenkeepers."
The learning materials are now available for purchase both in hard copy and on CD ROM. The CD-ROM is £30 including p&p and the hard copy, including the CD-ROM is priced £120 including p&p.
