Publications

The GTC has developed a training manual, which is a record of skills and knowledge used with trainees working towards a National/Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 2.

The black book as the training manual is often referred to has assisted many trainee greenkeepers to gain their first formal qualification and can be presented to employers as evidence of when and where they gained competency in a range of skills.

The manual is used by the GTC Training Providers, assessors and learners and has become the national set of standards for the greenkeeping sector.

The GTC has also developed level 2 and level 3 learning materials to complement the training manual (Level 2) and also for learners seeking information which relates to N/SVQ Level 3.

The materials have been developed in association with specialists within sports turf, health & safety, ecology and management.

The GTC Approved Training Providers use the learning materials as traditional handouts as well as being available in CD format.
