Training Manual
The GTC has developed a Greenkeeper’s Training Manual as the main vehicle to guide and monitor the training of trainee greenkeepers to the Diploma in Greenkeeping/SVQ Level 2. The manual is also designed to form a record of achievement for the trainee.
It has been designed not only to meet the needs of industry but also to satisfy the criteria laid down by Diploma in Greenkeeping/SVQ and so remaining within the mainstream of nationally recognised qualifications.
The training manual not only sets out the practical tasks which must be performed competently but also the related knowledge associated with the task and enabling sensible decisions to be taken. Both sections need to be assessed to indicate competence.
