Apprenticeships in England are to undergo a major review putting employers at the heart of the Standards and Framework.

The GTC representative of golf club employers (England Golf) together with BIGGA the Professional Body for Greenkeepers will be looking to be involved in a review of the current Apprenticeship for greenkeepers.

David Golding, GTC's Education Director believes the announcement from the government will allow the GTC to become even more influential to ensure the content of the Greenkeeping Apprenticeship fit for purpose for both employers and apprentice greenkeepers.

David added the apprenticeship within our sector has been very successful for many years and was the starting point for many of today's top Course Managers and Head Greenkeepers.

The GTC will ensure that the sector continues to be represented at any meetings where changes as recommended to government in the Richards Report are being discussed.
